Olfa claims that their self-healing mats contain 3 separate layers, when the top layer is cut, it pulls back together to ‘heal’ itself and repair the cut. Fiskars doesn’t have any information. These companies probably use a plastics manufacturing to make a proprietary mat material, with the grid and other information printed on the internal layer.
