What are SCinets network service offerings?
The SCinet network service offerings at SC10 include: • 1 Gigabit Ethernet: 1 Gigabit Ethernet connection to the SCinet IP network. This connection is delivered over multi-mode fiber and requires 1000Base-SX optics. • 10 Gigabit Ethernet: 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection to the SCinet IP network. This connection is delivered over single-mode fiber and requires 10GBase-LR optics. • InfiniBand: 4X, 8X, and 12X InfiniBand Quad Data Rate (QDR) connections to the SCinet InfiniBand network. 4X (40Gbps), 8X (80Gbps), and 12X (120Gbps) InfiniBand QDR connections are delivered over one (1), two (2), or three (3) active optical cable with QSFP termination respectively. (Please note: 8X and 12X InfiniBand QDR connectivity requires an 8X or 12X capable InfiniBand QDR switch and can not be connected directly to a server.) • Dark fiber: single-mode fiber laid between two locations.
