The overall aim of SAI Platform is the development of sustainable agricultural practices worldwide. With this in view, SAI Platform’s main work consists of animating a series of working groups composed of active member companies and aimed at developing sustainable agricultural practices along the three pillars of sustainability – economic, social and environmental. The general framework for SAI Platform’s working groups revolves around three key activities: 1) Development of documents: Mission Statement, Principles and Practices, and Indicators for sustainability 2) Stakeholder consultation 3) Pilot testing and roll-out under the responsibility of companies. In addition to these activities, SAI Platform keeps track of sustainable agricultural developments and ensures their communication to members and interested parties through its website, quarterly newsletter, meetings etc.
