What are safety measures of a roller coaster?
Every roller coaster is split up into sections called blocks, only one train at a time can be in a block. Each block is monitored by sensors that tell the ride’s computer when a block is free and when one is occupied. This information is given to the ride operator in the form of lights or a computer display on the control panel. If a train tries to enter a block while it is still occupied by the train before it, the emergency brakes automatically turn on and shut power to the ride off, stopping the train either in the breaks or on the lift. This ensures that no two trains get too close to each other during operation.
