Restraints allow the user to specify and control where GALENA is to search for a critical failure surface. The most common approach is to specify a Restraint zone near the toe of the slope and a further Restraint zone behind the crest of the slope through which the critical failure surface is likely to pass, as well as a radius range for circular surfaces, or a mid-point deflection range for non-circular surfaces.
