What are resolution, refresh rate, and dot pitch?
The resolution of a monitor indicates how densely packed the pixels are. In general, the more pixels, the more detail that can be displayed. All current technology monitors can display 1024 by 768 pixels, the SVGA standard. Many models can display 1280 by 1024, or 1600 by 1200. The refresh rate is how many times per second the screen is redrawn. For the best ergonomic results, the refresh rate should be at least 70Hz. The dot pitch is the amount of space between each hole in the shadow mask. Generally, the smaller the dot pitch, the sharper the image.
