Upon receiving a grade of “D” or “F” in a course, a student may replace the grade by repeating the course. The second grade earned, whether higher or lower, will be used in calculating the GPA unless the second grade is a “W”. This policy applies only the second time a course is attempted. Both grades received will be shown on the student’s transcript. This policy will apply to a maximum of 10 credit hours UTA. Other restrictions and/or conditions that may apply; see Academic Regulations. Is there any way to see how many people passed or failed a course? Yes. It’s called the Grade Distribution Report, which shows the grades made in every section of every course in previous semesters. It is available for students to examine in the Counseling and Advising Center (242 Nedderman Hall), the main library, and the University Advising Center (241 Davis Hall).
