Remote control dipswitch settings can be found in the back of your remote hand piece. If you remove the battery cover, you should be able to see the four dipswitches in its own separate compartment. HPI remote controls function using frequencies. For a HPI remote control to be able to operate your fan correctly the remote hand piece and the remote receiver must have matching dipswitch settings (or matching frequencies). Your remote hand piece is the part of the remote control unit with the buttons you use to operate your ceiling fan. The remote receiver is the black box located in your ceiling fan canopy, this part of the remote control unit must be properly installed by a licensed electrician.
