What are Reiki Symbols?
In Reiki Level I, the student does not learn any symbols. At that level, symbols are not required to give a Reiki treatment. As a student progresses to Levels II and above, symbols are learned and attunements given which empower them. These symbols and attunements add strength and versatility to the system of Reiki healing. When a student is attuned to a symbol the image is imprinted in the students aura and the energy represented by that symbol is linked to the symbol. Once the attunement is complete the energy for that symbol will flow whenever the student thinks of that image.
