What Are Reiki Symbols And How Do They Work?
In the earlier days when Dr Mikao Usis first began to teach Reikii the students were not taught Reiki Symbols. They were taught to attune to the energy through meditation and chants. Following this Dr Usui found some of his students had difficulty learning this skill so he then developed a set of symbols for them to focus on, to assist these students. This is how Reiki Symbols were born. The practices and beliefs of each Reiki Symbol differ from teacher to teacher. The one common belief that all Reiki Masters agree on, is that every Reiki Master Symbol is sacred and should be treated with the highest respect. During the three levels of Reiki Attunement different symbols are introduced to the student. Each symbol is connected to different energies to heal. The First Symbol taught in Reiki level i (one) is the Chok o ray. This often called the light switch or the amplifier of the Reiki energy.
