What are recruiters looking for from attendees at a job fair? Do they expect to hire a candidate?
Miko: Very few of us make on-the-spot offers. We look for candidates who are positive, well spoken, not expensively but appropriately dressed. They should wear a nice blouse or sweater and dress shoes. If they come in from clinicals in scrubs, that’s fine, but no jeans or shorts. I expect a resume that is well done. There are plenty of services out there available to help with this. I expect [new grads] to have a recommendation from a clinical instructor, if not on them, then one that is easily e-mailed the next day, as well as a transcript of their grades through last semester. If they are experienced, they should have the names of three or four managers who recommend them.
