What are purified, or “mineral” nutrients?
Mineral nutrients are made from purified mineral salts. The process of extraction results in a highly soluble and instantly available form of phosphorous, nitrogen, potassium, or any other desired element. Many of the sources used to make purified nutrients are the same ones used by organic food makers, the difference is that a man-made process is employed to make the phosphorous source more soluble. Mineral nutrients are best used with hydroponic systems, although they will work as a liquid nutrient for soil and soil blends as well.
