What are publicity and privacy rights?
Publicity rights allow individuals to control the use of their voice, image, likeness, or other identifiable aspect of their identity. Privacy rights refer to the general right of individuals to be left alone, for instance to not have elements of their identity represented publicly without permission. Whether and to what extent these rights exist varies depending on the jurisdiction. Creative Commons licenses do not waive or otherwise affect rights of privacy or publicity. If you have created a work or wish to use a work that might in some way implicate these rights, you may need to obtain permission from the individuals whose rights may be affected.
