What is their function? When uncoated carbon steel structures come into contact with the environment, the usual result is corrosion. Protective coatings are essentially designed to help prevent and seriously slow down the corrosion process. In addition, protective coatings can also be used to provide passive fire protection for structural steel. How do they work? Corrosion occurs when four conditions are present. An anode: this is an area on the steel surface which is MOST at risk to corroding. A cathode: this is an area on the steel surface which is LEAST at risk to corroding. A metallic pathway: is the steel surface itself which connects the anode and the cathode An electrolyte: is any liquid that can conduct electricity (e.g. seawater, rain, humidity, moisture) The use of protective coatings can remove one of the four conditions by providing barrier, inhibition or sacrificial protection, significantly slowing down the corrosion process or perhaps stopping it altogether. Protective coatings are coverings that are intended to provide a layer of protection from anything that could damage the function or integrity of an item. The application of a surface coating is common with a number of different products, ranging from electrical wiring to printed labels. The coatings are also helpful in preventing rust or enhancing the function of the product, as in the case of coated cookware. One of the most common examples of protective coatings is electrical wiring. The wires that actually carry the flow of current are covered with polymer coatings designed to contain power generated by the wires. At the same time, the coating protects the wires from exposure to any outside element that could cause a short or corrode the wires. Along with wiring, cookware featuring non-stick surfaces are another example of protective coatings found in the home. Using coatings such as Teflon&Reg;, food does not stick to the cooking surface on pans or pots. This quality helps to prol

In India, today most of the Paint Manufacturers make the products for the purpose of Decoration and for good look and that is the reason, they advertise thousands of colours and colour matching etc. But, internationally, coatings are segmented and depending on their use and application areas, they are categorized in to Decorative Coatings, Protective Coatings, Architectural Coatings, Marine Coatings, Can coatings, Coil Coatings & Speciality Coatings etc.Our motto is to provide only coatings for industrial and domestic sectors for the sole purpose of Protection and that is the reason, we do not call them paints but Protective Coating. We want to educate the customers about the difference in quality of coatings.
