• Guidelines for Good Design • Select standard fonts that are easy on the eye to maximize readability • Text is big enough to read, but not too big • Background and font colors should contrast • Use light font colors on dark backgrounds • Use dark font colors on light backgrounds • Avoid red and green combinations- hard on the eyes • Site navigation should be intuitive • Page layout should be created using tables • The website should not be too busy or distracting. Simple and classy is best! • Avoid long web pages. Most people would rather click than scroll. Keeps pages to less than than three screens to avoid too much scrolling. Break pages into sections and bookmark each section. Provide links to the sections and a link to return to the top of the page. • Apply the three-click rule. Visitors should not have to click more than three times to get information.
