What are prescription cold sore healing products?
Prescription cold sore healing products belong to a group of medications called antivirals. They work on cells already infected by the cold sore virus to help stop the virus from reproducing (or making copies of itself). Some antivirals have been clinically shown to have a positive impact by shortening healing time of cold sores. They’re available with a prescription as topical creams (e.g. Denavir® and Zovirax®) or oral pills (Famvir® and Valtrex®).
