What are positive things I can do to help my child learn better at school?
Foster a good relationship with the school professionals. Develop and maintain a good rapport with your child’s teacher and principal as early as possible. Convey to them that you are interested in working with them as a team member. Let the teachers know that you are interested in playing an active role in your child’s education during the year. Assure the school that you will come when needed. Visit your child’s classroom. Volunteer to help in your child’s school or classroom. This will give you a chance to see how things are done at school and how your child relates to classmates and teachers. Schedule face-to-face talk time with the teacher if possible and work out a communication system to stay informed on a regular basis.
