What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are tooth colored restorations, best made by a dental laboratory technician after the teeth have been “prepared” by a dentist. Generally speaking, veneers are used to enhance the teeth that are most visible at the front of ones mouth. There are different types of veneers available. Some require aggressive removal of tooth structure, and others do not. No veneers will last forever so make sure you understand what you’re doing before you accept treatment.
Porcelain veneers are form-fitted shells that are permanently affixed to the front of your teeth They are as hard or harder than your own enamel, and resist stains and abrasion far better. They can be the ultimate in a cosmetic make-over, because they can solve many common cosmetic problems: chipped, gapped, stained and mis-aligned teeth, among others. They require at least three visits to complete.
