What are polyunsaturated Essential Fatty Acids?

0

There are four basic types of fat that the body takes from food: cholesterol, saturated fat, monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated essential fatty acids. The polyunsaturated essential fatty acids are the one’s the body uses to build itself. These essential fatty acids are called ‘essential’ fatty acids because they are necessary for life. The body cannot make EFA’s for itself nor can it store them, so we need a regular supply in our food, and the modern day diet of processed convenience foods often means we are lacking these valuable EFAs. Polyunsaturated Essential Fatty Acids include: Alpha Linolenic Acid (Omega 3), and Linoleic Acid (Omega 6).
