What are polymer and bonded bronzes?
Polymer bronzes are finishes applied to castings which are composed of finely-ground metals –bronze– in a polymer (acrylic) binder. As it is a genuine metallic finish, it may be patined as a traditional bronze to produce various colors and duplicate the appearance of a conventional bronze without the considerable cost . . . Bonded or “cold-cast” bronzes involve atomized (ground) bronze powder combined with a filled polyurethane binder to produce — most commonly — a laminated (hollow) casting which may also be chemically patined to create various finishes . . .
