What are PM10 and are they harmful?
People are often concerned about very, very small particles emitted called PM10. National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI) research shows that traffic produces six times more of these particles than all waste management processes. Figures show in 2006 waste incineration contributed 0.03% of the national emissions of air pollution particulates PM10, compared to 27% for traffic and 25% for industry.
