A pixel is the smallest item of information in a digital image. Technically, they don’t make TV great – they make it POSSIBLE to watch at all. Pixels are those tiny dots see when you look real close at your monitor or TV. With older screens they were visible with the naked eye from just couple of inches from the screen. Today, you will often need a magnifying glass to see them as they are much smaller and there are more of them crammed in per square inch of the screen. That (and other things, like digital technology) is one of the main reasons today’s Hi-Resolution and Hi-Definition video looks much better than, say… VHS.
