What Are Pirate Treasure Maps Made Of?
Interestingly enough, there are no actual documented cases of a historical pirate treasure map! It’s funny because with the amount of books and movies that involve pirates with buried treasure and maps, you would think there would be some actual basis to it. I guess there is in a way, in that, there were some “sailors” that buried their treasure although as I say, no actual known cases of a map being made for where they buried it. In any case, considering the timing of when the pirates would have been burying their treasure and making maps, the paper used probably would not of been any different to that of the paper used elsewhere in the world at the time.
