What Are Piagets Child Development Stages?
Jean Piaget, born in 1896, was a Swiss biologist and child psychologist, who proposed Piaget’s Child Development Stages, a theory outlining the process of developing knowledge. Through his research, Piaget proposed that the intellectual mind was a result of increasingly complex methods of thought built on a foundation of primitive reflexes. According to Piaget, this occurs in organized stages, each building upon earlier development, with the organization of ideas into “schemes,” or related groups. His work has inspired educators to develop skill based curriculums.
