Pet talents are very similar to hunter talents. Your pet gets a number of talent points which you can spend to get it special abilities in a talent tree. Just like hunter talents, pet talents in the tree are tiered: the first tier doesn’t have any requirements, but to spend a point on a second tier tree you first need to have spent a certain number in the first tier, and so forth.
