A14: There are five patriotic holidays in a calendar year that honor the nation and the men and women who served: Armed Forces Day (Third Saturday in May), Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day (July 4), POW-MIA Day (third Friday in September), and Veterans Day (Nov. 11). Off-base events scheduled seven days before or after the holiday date do not need a request for an Exception-to-Policy, if they are directly in support of the holiday.
