What are parabens and why don’t you use them?
A. Parabens are esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid that have been extensively used for many years to control microbial growth in personal care products. However, parabens have been documented to be irritants and potential sensitizers in many individuals—this fact alone would be reason enough not to use them. But research is also showing that parabens are implicated as endocrine disrupters, compounds that can interfere with the way hormones are managed in the body. If proved true, the consequences would be quite serious. Because of these unknown research results, you will never find parabens in any Moéa hair care product.
