Paintballs have an outside shell made from gelatin, similar to medicine gel caplets. The “paint” liquid is made from food dye for its color and polyethylene glycol. They are non-toxic and will bio-degrade over time. Paintballs are safe enough to eat if you can get past the taste. After all, paintball eating contests are a tournament favorite!
