What are our own personal experiences with constructivism and technology?
We, Dawn, Elvira, Faith, Josh, Norma, and Tricia, the six of the Knox College students that are collaborating on this project, have all had previous experiences in constructivist classroom settings such as Education 204: Psychological Foundations of Education (taught by our faculty advisor of this project, Donna Jurich). Elvira, Josh, and Norma have done independent studies in groups where their opinions set the pace for understanding and practicing methods of learning and teaching. Students meet with their independent study supervisors and make plans on their own. We also have done hours of observation and some teachings of lessons at various schools. Finally, as a group, we are constantly exploring more ways to integrate constructivism in classrooms.
