The counties of Napa, Sonoma, Solano, and Marin are trying to do everything they can to prevent an infestation from occurring. In conjunction with participating retailers, nurseries and landscapers, inspection of incoming plant material is underway to stop the insect from being transported into our counties on plant shipments. Look for a Certificate of Compliance at your local store that indicates that their plants have been inspected for the Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter. The Counties are putting traps out everywhere they can. These traps, made of sticky yellow cardboard, can be put in your yard if you’re willing to help. Please call 1-866-BUG-SPOT if you’re willing to have a trap in your yard. The Counties have inspectors that are working very hard to do everything they can to help keep our counties lush and beautiful. But they cannot do it alone.
