New South Wales and Queensland have recently introduced ‘traffic light’ systems in their school canteens based on minimum nutrient criteria where registered products must not exceed levels of energy, total fat, saturated fat, sodium and sugar provided in the criteria. NSW has restricted the sale of RED foods and drinks to two days per term. This means that one or more of these foods can be sold on two designated days per term.
