What are other options apart from hearing aids?
When the hearing loss is so severe that conventional hearing aids are not useful, there is an option of surgically implanting a hearing device called cochlear Implant . This device directly stimulates the hearing nerve bypassing the whole ear. The cochlear implant stimulates the nerve directly through electrodes inserted in the shell shaped cochlea, bypassing the hair cells.
