What are Opposing Muscle Groups (OMG)?

0

Opposing MGs are muscles that are 90 degrees (perpendicular) to the target muscle group. These muscles can often “get in the way” of the target muscle group you are trying to stretch. So, if your target muscle group is your central hamstring, the opposing muscle group would be the adductors. Also, you will notice that if the target muscle group is on the outside/back of the body, then the opposing MG will be on the front/inside of the body.
