You can create an electronic link between your existing external bank account (and some brokerage accounts) and your Capital One Online Savings Account when you open your account, or through our free Online Banking service once your account is set up. We’ll use the 9-digit ABA routing/transit number for your current external account to set up the link and ask you to verify one or more “test” deposits we’ll make into the account. This means you can easily log in to our free Online Banking service and transfer funds electronically (also known as an “EFT”) between your Capital One Online Savings Account and your linked external accounts with other financial institutions through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network, the secure transfer system that connects all U.S. financial institutions. Transfers generally take three to five days to process.
