What are OCTRI’s resources for career development?
Career development is a major focus of OCTRI. The existing Human Investigations Program (HIP) is being gradually expanded. Its curricula provides competencies necessary for clinical and translational investigators. Participation can be as little as one course or as comprehensive as the Master of Clinical Research. Our new OSLER (Oregon Students Learn and Explore Research) program will offer early research experience and short- and long-term mentored clinical and translational research training. The program is open to pre-doctoral medical, dental, graduate nursing, basic science, bioengineering, and pharmacy students. In the long-term mentored training program, doctoral students simultaneously enroll in the Master of Clinical Research degree program. The Oregon Scholars in Clinical Research (OSCR) program provides salary and dedicated research training for postdoctoral trainees, including fellows and faculty.
