A An Occupational Health referral often confirms to the University that an individual is covered by the Disability Discrimination Act or that reasonable adjustments are required. Occupational health can often offer initial advice and guidance regarding adjustments and possible costs, to establish if an application through Access to Work is appropriate. Any referral is made after gaining explicit approval from the employee. It is not University practice to refer all disabled employees or applicants to Occupational Health.
