What are Nuxeo EP 5, Nuxeo EP and Nuxeo RCP?
Nuxeo EP 5 is the 5th version of the open source platforms developed by Nuxeo (the four previous ones where known as “CPS”). Nuxeo EP or “Enterprise Platform” is the server part of Nuxeo EP 5. It is a Java EE application intended to run in a standard Java EE 5 application server like JBoss. It can be accessed by end users from a web browser, from office productivity suites like MS-Office or OpenOffice.org, or from rich client developed using the Nuxeo RCP technology (see below). Nuxeo RCP or “Rich Client Platform” is a platform for building rich client applications, that usually connect to a Nuxeo EP server. Nuxeo EP and Nuxeo RCP run on top of a common runtime, “Nuxeo Runtime”, and share a common set of core components, called “Nuxeo Core”.
