We have a gentlemen’s agreement to try as hard as we can to avoid simple surface-level political controversies (see: Politics is the Mind-Killer). It’s borderline okay to present a political problem in the context of a point about rationality that it exemplifies, but it would probably be bad to write a full article just about why you support one side of a hot-button political issue.
