What are North American colonization focusing on similarites and differences between France, Spain, and Englan?
This will open a can of worms. The Spanish arrived to the US first, and colonized most of it from the half down. Spanish seamen were still first to other areas, such as what today is New York but didn’t really stop or settle there. Spain owned Louisiana at one point, plus Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California. Louisiana was taken from us by the French in Napoleon times (Napoleon conquered Spain for around 10 years), but we kept, after Napoleon, Florida. California, Texas, went to the Mexicans after the became independent from us, also around the time that the French invaded Spain. The newly independent USA took every one of these areas one by one. Florida was sold to the USA by Spain for a mere 5 million (if I remember correctly), with US troops mounting around the border on the false complain that the Indians living in Florida were illegally crossing into their territory and causing constant trouble.
