What are Normalization Integral Files?
Normalization integral files are (currently…I want to upgrade this) .txt files containing normalization integral terms for all .amps files in a monte carlo directory. When performing a PWA fit, a normalization term formed from accepted monte carlo amplitudes is needed. The fit parameters can be factored out of the amplitude summation over events…so we can do this once prior to running any fits. These values are what’s stored in the .norm files. The files contain an NxN matrix of values for each incoherent set of waves (what determines coherence is speficied by the user when the file is created), where N is the number of waves in the incoherent waveset. There are also permitted to be any number of overall scale factors to the values. These factors are applied to all values in all incoherent wavesets. These are listed at the bottom of the file.
