At Idaho State University and all other Idaho universities your instruction fees are broken into tuition and fees. Idaho students pay Resident Tuition of $2,484.00 per semester. Students from other states in the U.S and International students pay additional Non-Resident Tuition of $4,901.00 per semester for a total of $7,385.00 per semester. The total tuition cost for one academic year (2 semesters) for non-resident students is $14,770.00 Virtually all public universities and colleges in the United States have a two-tier fee structure — resident and non-resident—whereby Non-Residents (visa holders) of the United States pay for the actual cost of instruction while residents of a particular state only pay for part of it and the rest is paid by a taxpayer subsidy. If you receive a Non-Resident Tuition Waiver, you receive the same benefit as a state resident and pay a much reduced tuition fee thanks to the generosity of the Idaho taxpayer.
