NNRTIs are a type of antiretroviral drug that interferes with one of the steps of the HIV life-cycle and prevents the virus from being able to multiply. NNRTIs are used in combination with other drugs. Currently there are four approved NNRTIs on the market: efavirenz (Sustiva®), nevirapine (Viramune®), delavirdine (Rescriptor®), etravirine (Intelence®) and a fixed dose combination of NNRTIs and another drug class (Atripla®).
