What are newspapers recycled into?
Newspaper is collected, baled and taken to a paper mill where it is mixed with hot water and turned into pulp. The pulp is screened for contaminants, cleaned, often de-inked and bleached, and then made into new paper products. Newspaper and its supplements are mixed in with other grades of paper and used to make new newspapers, paperboard, puzzles, wallboard, gift/food boxes, cellulose insulation and animal bedding.
