What are Newsgroup Hierarchies?
As previously explained there are vast number of Usenet newsgroups with new ones being added all the time. In order to make everything manageable, a system is used in which the newsgroups are collected into categories called HIRARCHIES. Each hierarchy has its own name and it is devoted to a particular area of interest.
