What are net carbs and how are they calculated?
Net carbohydrate typically refers to the amount of carbohydrate in a food serving that is readily digestible. There is currently no FDA policy on carbohydrate claims, but most companies, including Sant Gourmet, define net carbohydrate to be equivalent to Total Carbohydrate minus sugar alcohol and fiber. This is because sugar alcohols and dietary fiber are not readily digestible and have a minimal or zero impact on blood sugar levels.
