If your laptop has a pcmcia slot (most do, many have 2 of these with one on top of the other)) and you do not have other pcmcia devices occuping the available slot or slots, you can take advantage of any cellular internet carrier’s service. The machine is not the slow step. The potential problem is reception at your common places of use. Like a cell phone, there are good spots, weak spots, and dead spots. Just like cellular voice, check out what sort of signal strength the carriers have in the areas you frequent. If these areas have a suitable signal strength, you are in business. Keep in mind that if you travel elsewhere you may be in a weak or dead spot just like cellular so select your carrier carefully. Usually you procure the pcmcia card from the carrier so make sure you have a card the carrier recognizes and permits. Many people like the Sprint service so you probably will be satisifed with it.
