What are my risks if I need to let an employee go from a job – with cause or without cause?
The employer’s risks when terminating a person with a disability are the same as they are for terminating an employee who does not have a disability – as long as the reason for termination is not related to the employee’s disability. If the reason is related to the person’s disability, then accommodations should be considered as an option first.
