What are my options for telephone conferencing in a technology classroom?

Skype is available on all Windows and Mac computers. At this time, only voice capabilities are available. Phones installed in technology classrooms are equipped with a jack (or can be equipped with a phone that does by contacting techclass@psu.edu) so that a voice conferencing system (i.e., Polycom unit) can be connected. TNS has these units available and they can be reserved by calling 5-4462. Phones in GPCs are configured with the ringer disconnected, but you could hear someone dialing in if you have a conference system as mentioned above connected. Phone service is limited to local calling only. You can, however, obtain an authorization code that would allow long distance calls to be charged to a departmental budget. You can obtain more information on how to do this by clicking here.
