What are my Main legal rights if I have been accused of a crime?
1)Your family or the unit shall be notified of the reasons for the place of custody within 24 hours after a person has been detained or arrested; as for the foreigners, Within 48 hours after you have been detained or arrested, the Embassy or Consulate in China to which you belongs shall be notified of the reasons for detention or arrested, the place of custody and the general information of the case. Then, the embassy or consulate will inform your family; 2)You shall have the right to ask to meet with the staff of embassy or consulate in China to which you belongs; 3)You shall have the right to defense by yourself and you also have the right to explain your innocence; 4)Your shall have the right to refuse to answer any questions that are irrelevant to your case; 5)You and your near relatives shall have the right to appoint one or two Chinese criminal defense lawyer for you at anytime of the procedure of the criminal caseļ¼ 6)You shall have rights to apply for withdrawal of any member of
