What are my legal options to resolve rent problems?
Tenants have only a couple of options to resolve problems while renting. The obvious solution is to work it out with apartment manager/ landlord yourself, however, if you’re here most likely you’ve tried to deal with the landlord problem yourself and haven’t been able to reach an agreement. Living with the an unresolved renting problem should never be an option, so that leaves you a couple of choices. You can hire an attorney and take the landlord to court. (should only be considered as a last resort) Or file a landlord complaint with the Rental Protection Agency. Filing a complaint with the RPA should be your first defense to protect your rights.
